BrightMinds: Lisa Myers from Ceres Chill

Meet Lisa Myers, tough woman and mother of two epic kids, military spouse, former farm girl, retired big-city lawyer, current, proud, unstoppable Founder and CEO of Ceres Chill.

Super Mom: If you could choose one superpower to improve mothers' experiences, what would it be?

True Self-Awareness - the confidence and knowledge to BELIEVE AND KNOW that you are the best mom for your children, that you are making the choices that are best for your family, that you can return to work to make even greater contributions than you did before you had children. True self-awareness and Confidence is a superpower! Ooorrrr super strength. That would be nice too.

Magic Wand: With a magic wand, what’s the one major challenge in maternal care you’d solve?

Eliminating toxins and the worry about toxins for new parents. We are so mindful, careful and vigilant in our manufacturing, but I know from experience that is not universal.

Dream Influencer: Who would you invite—historical figure, fictional character, or celebrity—to help with your organization, and what role would they play?

Queen Mab from Midsummer Night's Dream. She is a Queen and also a midwife, bringing human dreams to birth and life. I would love that for Ceres Chill and all the amazing new parents who benefit from our products.

Oscar Moment: In 2034, you’ve won an award for a maternal care solution. What initiative did you create, and how did it change the industry?

All lead and harmful chemicals are banned in baby gear completely and my company has shared the knowledge, practices, and methods to ensure safe manufacturing of all infant products. One less huge concern to hold moms back, distract them, or leave them burdened with guilt and worry.

Your Mom: Has there been a moment when you thought, 'What would Mom do?' How did it influence your decision?

My mom is one of the grittiest, unstoppable people I will ever know. I think she is always in the back of my mind or somewhere behind me, not necessarily encouraging me but having given me foundational confidence and showing me that I need to keep moving forward toward my ultimate end goal.

Boss Mom: What traits or habits do mothers have that would make them great CEOs?

Relentlessness, ingenuity, and the ability to function at the necessary level to achieve important goals, with no sleep, encouragement, thanks, or nutrition beyond Goldfish crackers.

Crystal Ball: What do you see for the future of maternal care?

Continued, much-needed innovation as more women and mothers join the FemTech movement.

One Lesson: What’s one lesson from your mother that has impacted your life?

I will not always be the best, smartest, prettiest, and fastest, but I will be great in moments.

Quote Me: Favorite quote

"To laugh often and much: To win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children, to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate beauty, to find the best in others, to leave the world a bit better whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition; to know even one life has breathed easier because you lived. This is to have succeeded." - Ralph Waldo Emerson
