Meet Alisa Marie Beyer, a 3X veteran of the delivery room, birth doula, childbirth educator, and founder of the Maternal Care Institute and Mindful Mama Childbirth.
Super Mom: If you could choose one superpower to improve mothers' experiences, what would it be?
I'd want to help moms believe in their own strength and voice, easing fear and anxiety so they can have a calm, confident, and connected birth experience.
Magic Wand: With a magic wand, what’s the one major challenge in maternal care you’d solve?
I’d tackle the inequality in maternal care, making sure every mom, no matter her background, gets top-notch support and resources.
Inspire Moms: What message would you send to all moms?
This is tough because there's so much advice out there. My message, after raising three kids to adulthood, is to do it your way. Take the time to think about what you want to remember and how you want to feel about raising your children. I’m grateful I did it my way and captured so many special moments.
Your Mom: Has there been a moment when you thought, 'What would Mom do?' How did it influence your decision?
Definitely. My mom and I are alike in many ways, but also different. The best thing she did was give me the space and grace to do things my way without interference or judgment.
Balancing Act: As a CEO and mother, what are three things you’ve done to stay grounded?
Forget the idea of perfect balance—it's a myth. Embrace the chaos, live in the moment, and give yourself, your kids, and your husband a lot of grace and forgiveness. And always be grateful.
One Lesson: What’s one lesson from your mother that has impacted your life?
My mom taught me the value of resilience and adaptability. Those lessons have been essential in navigating motherhood, my career, and life in general.
Quote Me: My favorite quote
“I’ve learned that making a living is not the same thing as making a life.” Maya Angelou
